Database of Pesticide Analyses

Paper forms reporting chemical analyses of water samples that were collected as part of the first quarterly sampling (summer 1998) were obtained by the Indiana Geological Survey (IGS) from personnel of the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM). These reports contained data on the following chemical parameters: chloride, hardness, sulfate, nitrogen, acidity, barium, calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, and sodium. Data were reported for a subset of 265 monitoring points. These data were entered by IGS personnel into spreadsheets and a database.

Pestnet Database

Robert Hamilton, IDEM, created a Microsoft Access database that has an interface and templates of tables to store all data relevant to the pesticide monitoring program. The locational data from GPS surveys that was entered into spreadsheets was also separately entered by IGS personnel into the appropriate table of the database. As chemical data are gathered in future samplings of monitoring wells, those data will be added to the database.
