A magnitude 4.6 earthquake centered in northeastern Alabama occurred at about 4:00 a.m. on April 29, 2003. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) reported that the quake, which was felt in 11 states, including parts of southern Indiana, produced very limited damage.
