GeoFest 2003

The IGS booth at GeoFest, the Indiana State Museum's gem, mineral, and fossil festival held October 25 and 26, was a big hit, especially with children. The booth, which featured free rock sets that kids could make themselves and a bucket full of free fossils for kids to dig through to find their favorites, was staffed by IGS volunteers Marni Dickson, Janis Fox, Ginny Haddan, Jeff Kirby, Sally Letsinger, Stephaney Pulshalsky, Nelson Shaffer, and Rachel Walker. The festival was well attended and the visitors kept the IGS volunteers busy with questions about Indiana geology and about research conducted by the IGS.
