GIS Day is a global event that highlights GIS (geographic information systems), the technology that uses geography to change the world. While the official date for GIS Day 2004 was November 17, it was celebrated at Indiana University on November 11. The program, which was held at the Indiana Memorial Union and included posters, presentations, and demonstrations (many by IGS staff members), was co-sponsored by the Indiana Geological Survey.
