With attendance estimated at nearly 18,000 people, this year's festival, held April 24 in downtown Indianapolis, was an excellent opportunity to inform Hoosiers of all ages about the geology of the state and about the IGS's environment-related research. Peg Ennis, Jeff Kirby, Stephaney Puchalski, and Rachel Walker welcomed visitors to the IGS booth, which included a large number of free maps, brochures, and information sheets, along with poster displays, a hands-on display about water, and a bucket full of fossils for kids to dig through to find and keep their favorite.
