How to get to the IGS

The Geology Building is located at the corner of 10th Street and Walnut Grove in Bloomington. The Indiana Geological Survey is in the wing of the building that faces Walnut Grove. All IGS room numbers begin with "S-"; if you see room numbers that begin with "G-", you are in the wrong wing of the building.

If you are coming from the north, south, or west:

Take IN 37 to the IN 45/46 Exit, going east into Bloomington (if you are traveling from the west on IN 46, it will turn into IN 45/46 as you enter Bloomington; if you are traveling from the west on IN 45, take the IN 37 North exit and proceed to the IN 45/46 exit). Continue on IN 45/46 past Memorial Stadium and turn right on to Fee Lane (at the State Police post). Proceed on Fee Lane until you go under a railroad bridge. Just beyond the bridge, turn right on to 11th St., which runs along the north side of the Fee Lane Parking Garage. The parking garage entrance is on 11th St.

If you are coming from the east:

Take IN 46 (Third St.) to a road that is named College Mall Road south of Third St. and IN 46 north of Third St. (CVS, Red Lobster, and Shell/Bigfoot are on the corners of the intersection). Turn right on to IN 46 and proceed to Fee Lane (watch for State Police post). Turn left on to Fee Lane and drive until you go under a railroad bridge. Just beyond the bridge, turn right on to 11th St., which runs along the north side of the Fee Lane Parking Garage. The parking garage entrance is on 11th St.
