The geologic makeup of the area around Cincinnati, Ohio, including southeastern Indiana and northern Kentucky, makes it particularly prone to landslides. This brochure provides guidance on how to look for landslide evidence on a property and how to remediate the problem if necessary. Cracks or depressions in the soil and tilted trees or utility poles may be signs that the soil is unstable. Consulting geologic and soil maps of the area can also provide hints that development might be risky. Steps to take to reduce landslide risks are also included.
Keywords: geologic hazard, landslides, Kope Formation
