Field Testing

Photo showing final set-up before testing of the well water. Tracy Branam, IGS staff geochemist, supervises the final set-up and testing of the well water. Meters on the ground are attached to electrodes in the plexiglass chamber and calibrated to read conductivity, pH, dissolved oxygen, and oxidation-reduction potential. Water from the well is run through the chamber until the meter readings stabilize. This typically requires an average of 15 minutes.
