Using the Search Well Record Tables Menu

The PDMS Well Search Menu (Search Menu) is used to find records or groups of records that match specified criteria in the Well Record Tables. Additional kinds of well searches can be made in the Map Viewer.

To search for data from one or more wells:

  1. Input search criteria in the Well Search Menu.
  2. Click either Search button. One is located just above the Menu; the other is just below the Menu.
  3. If only a single record matches you search, the Well Record Page for that well will open in the Well Record Tables.
  4. If multiple records match your request, the Search Results Page will open and a list of wells will be presented. Click on a specific record to open the corresponding Well Record Page.

Clicking the < Reset Form> button clears all data entered by the user from the Search Menu so a new Search can be made.

The general idea behind a PDMS well search is that the default Menu (with no additional criteria selected) returns records for every well in the PDMS. Selecting any search option restricts the results to only those wells that match the selection. If multiple criteria are specified for single search, the results will include records of only the wells that match all of the chosen criteria (the intersection of all the searched criteria).

However, for some search criteria, it was deemed advantageous to deviate from the stated method and include few search criteria that function inclusively. Each search criterium is explained below and departures from restrictive search results are spelled out. Also, the labels in the Well Search Menu are linked to related explanations.

The Search Menu is organized into four sections for convenience in selecting search criteria. However, all of the options (except Well ID Numbers and the Search by Well Types) work together in pretty much the same way to restrict the search results, regardless of where they are displayed on the Search Menu.

Follow the links below for detailed search instructions:

Search by Well ID Numbers

Being identifiers of specific wells, the IGS ID Number and the Permit Number cannot be used in conjunction with other search criteria, nor can the two numbers be selected simultaneously.
