About the LakeRim

Northwestern Indiana is one of the most densely populated and heavily industrialized parts of the state. Despite the concentration of industrial facilities and urbanization, the region has natural areas of scenic and recreational value, including the Indiana Dunes State Park and the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. This Web site is the product of a collaborative effort to provide information needed to assist the public's involvement in local resource use and planning issues.
