Funding added to the base of the USGS appropriation, Earth Surface Dynamics Program, at the discretion of the USGS, DOI, and OMB. (Page 145, “FY2001 Budget Justification of the USGS, Earth Surface Dynamics Program, specifically mentioned as the Great Lakes Mapping Coalition Project.”)
FY2004-08
Funding occurred as a $500,000 line-item in the President’s budget.
FY2009 AMOUNT REQUESTED
Restore the $500,000 that was removed from the FY2009 administration budget and increase the funding by $4.5 million to expedite priority geologic mapping in the Great Lakes states.
* “House” referred to is the original House markup of the USGS budget, which did not contain any funding
explicitly for the Coalition project.
