A GIS Atlas for Indiana

This online atlas allows you to construct custom maps with layers showing information about coal, environment/biology, geology, hydrology, and infrastructure/demographics. New layers or features will be added each month. The information available in two previously built online GIS atlases for specific regions of Indiana (see below) eventually will be incorporated into the statewide atlas.

 

Allen County Geologic Atlas

The Allen County Geologic Atlas includes an interactive map component whereby anyone with an Internet connection can produce and print a custom map of all or part of Allen County. Illustrations and educational summaries of geologic maps, landform images, and databases are also featured, as well as a large quantity of basic geologic data.

 

Indiana Coal Mine Information System

Create, view, and print maps showing locations of surface and underground coal mines and documented subsidence areas in Indiana, and obtain data about the mines.

 

 

Indiana Historical Aerial Photo Index

An index map for locating Indiana aerial photos from the 1930s through the 1980s. This database include more than 1130,000 images from several state archives. Thumbnail images are viewable for the 40,000 images from the IGS repository.

Petroleum Database Management System

The Petroleum Database Management System is a Web application designed to distribute petroleum-related information from the Indiana Geological Survey. The database contains information on more than 70,000 petroleum-related wells drilled in Indiana. The Map Viewer is an interface that displays interactive maps of petroleum well data.

Lake Rim GIS
